Have you faced discrimination in school or sports?

    My name is Dana. I am 13 years old. I have had diabetes for 5 years. I attend GCCS School, anyway last year I wanted to try out for basketball and softball. I tried out and made the team, but after the coach read my physical, she said that I couldn't play because of my diabetes. So then I went home and told my mom and the next day she went to the school and talked the staff about it, they said that I still couldn't play cause i they didn't want to be bothered wit me, so we did everything we did, but I still wasn't able to play. I got online one day, and contacted NBC 26 news, and I told them my story and the next day when I got to school, the press was there. After they were publicly humiliated, they finally let me play. So now I am level 7 gymnast, I pitch for my school softball team, I am a competitive cheerleader, and I play basketball.
